Young adults

To support our work for young adults, we have a developed a dedicated website at www.whataboutmoney.info

This website provides impartial information for 16-24 year olds. From starting college or university, buying their first car, to starting work and renting their first place, it's the information most relevant to their particular needs. It has been developed in response to a clear need identified in our consumer research. In shaping and developing the site, we asked young adults what they want on the site, how they want it, and who they wanted to hear it from. We have taken the approach to complement and not duplicate online resources from other trusted sources, where these already exist.

The site is constantly updated and includes a wide range of information to help young adults take control. We have regular hot topics which cover anything from going to the world cup, waiting for your student loan or paying your benefits or salary onto pre-paid cards, to planning your wedding or understanding travel insurance.

And we've recently uploaded a series of top money tips from Further Education Students in the form of vox pops. These helpful videos give peer to peer advice. For example, we ask what, if anything, would they have done differently were they a new student again, their top tips for someone starting college, ideas on how to make money go further, and a general idea on how life has changed for them since leaving school.

We produced these vox pops to use with young adults - and are particularly keen for them to be used as an education resource aimed at those leaving school this year.

Anyone interested in using the vox pops, helping to promote the site to young adults, or interested in using any content on the site, please contact us.
