Volunteer presenters sought by the FSA!

Improving Financial Capability in the UK

As part of the National Strategy for Financial Capability, we are delivering a hugely important programme of workplace education. Our target is that by 2011, we will have helped 4 million people by providing education and information in the workplace. A very significant part of our work is delivering the 'Make The Most Of Your Money' seminar to employees, through volunteer professionals from the Financial Services industry. This programme has been running for over a year and demand has grown rapidly.

The seminar covers topics such as savings and investment, insurance, mortgages and pension planning and is proving very successful.

Independent research shows that 86% of delegates consider the seminar played a role in their decision to take action in relation to their finances.

We are looking to increase our pool of volunteer presenters – can you help?

We are keen to talk to firms who would like to work alongside us to help educate consumers by delivering the 'Make The Most Of Your Money' seminar.

Why should your firm become involved?

  • Great opportunity to work alongside us on something really positive and exciting
  • Boost your corporate social responsibility agenda
  • Reinforce and enhance your reputation within your local community
  • Engage with consumers from a wider perspective than usual
  • Offer a very worthwhile personal development opportunity for your staff
  • Participate in something that is vital to the well being of the UK
  • Develop a greater insight into workplace training and education
  • Increase your awareness of employee benefits communication
  • Further your understanding of financial capability issues and solutions

What would we like?

  • The commitment to provide circa 8 days per annum on a volunteer basis. Days would be spread throughout the year.
  • Presenters are always requested on an 'opt-in' basis and only matched to a presentation once they confirm their availability.
  • Depending upon the number of employees, between one and four sessions in a day would be required.

What will we provide in return?

  • The employers! All seminars will be arranged for you.
  • Travel expenses are not reimbursed so we will only ask a presenter to deliver seminars within one hour of where they reside.
  • A dedicated support team to ensure everything is arranged for the presenter.
  • One day training course followed by ongoing support and training as required.
  • A minimum of one months notice for any requests.
