CFEB to continue its role in helping consumers manage money

17 June: Mark Hoban, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, has confirmed in Parliament that CFEB will continue to be responsible for developing and delivering financial capability programmes for the UK. The Minister confirmed that a new Consumer Protection and Markets Authority will take on the FSA's responsibility for consumer protection and conduct regulation, and will oversee CFEB.

Responding to the Minister's announcement, Tony Hobman, Chief Executive, CFEB said: 'The Consumer Financial Body is committed to enhancing the public's understanding of money matters, and dedicated to improving their ability to confidently manage their own financial affairs. I am delighted to hear the Minister confirm the importance of our role in improving financial capability.'
