Moneymadeclear
What is Moneymadeclear?
Moneymadeclear provides clear, impartial information about financial products and services. It aims to help consumers help themselves to make informed decisions about their money. No selling. No jargon. Just the facts.
Why use it?
It's free and easy to use. The website is set out in life stages and by product type to make it easier for users to find the information they want. The range of printed guides covers subjects in the following areas: Everyday money; Saving and investing; Buying a home; Pensions and retirement; If things go wrong; and About the FSA.
All our content is written in 'bite size' chunks which are easy to digest.
We also have a Consumer Helpline offering information and general guidance.
Above all, Moneymadeclear is produced by the Financial Services Authority - a trusted source of impartial consumer information.
The benefits:
- For intermediaries - can help you deliver impartial information and practical tips to help your clients, which will encourage them to come back or recommend your services to others.
- For consumers - can help them get to grips with their money, identify their options and help them help themselves become more financially capable and confident.
- For businesses - increased perception that you care about your clients and employees.
How can you use it?

Our online and printed guides cover a range of life stages, from buying a home and starting a family; through to managing in retirement and how to get financial advice.
*Update*
We recently ran a pilot with four banks and building societies who displayed Moneymadeclear guides in selected branches across the UK and conducted research to see whether branches were an effective distribution channel. High level results show that 95% of staff surveyed thought it was useful to have the guides in their branch because they help their customers understand financial information.
